It was not a surprise for me that Michael recreated the Golem.Only people with pure soul,sincere heart and upright spirit can summon the Golem.It seemed to him that black people and white people,Jews and Irish were equal in sight.He made real friends with Rabbi Hirsch,a refugee from the Holocaust.However,He was in pouble because of the relation with Rabbi：Michael,His mother and the Rabbi were attacked by Falcons,a gang of ruffians.Besides,Michael was considered as an informer,and even his best friends in school began to drift apart with him.In order to survive,in order to protect his family and Rabbi,Michael created Golem.Maybe his faith of protecting touched the God,he summoned Golem and defeated the Falcons.So I was not surprised that Michael was able to recreate a Golem.
In my opinion,the miracles were a kind of the author’s wish.At the background in the story,even if Michael had incredible courage and unbelievable wisdom,the only 11-year-old boy was still hard to defeat the Falcons.Hurting or even death was unavoidable.But the author didn’t want the Irish toughs obey no laws,so he used miracles to help Michael to beat those bad guys.He wished we have a peace world.no racial discrimination,everybody on the Earth is equal.Besides,using miracles instead of realistic events can atpact more readers to read ,it’s more interesting.
